514thECB continues to shine with its new Battalion Commander by: 1LT RIZZA MAY SAN AGUSTIN

Nothing is permanent, only change. Change is a sign of a healthy organization and dynamic organization. This is a normal process that offers dynamism in our quest for excellence in performing our mandated task. For a certain purpose or outcome, Change is essential.
Recently, the 514th “Ang Gumagawa” Engineer Construction Battalion underwent this process as it welcomes its new Commander last 16 January 2009 in the person of LTC JOSE GLEEN T ALCALA. The newly installed commander mentioned in his speech that he will continue what LTC ARNOLD FERNANDEZ, the outgoing Battalion Commander have started and to continue to keep up the standard of the Battalion.
To continue the ongoing projects of the Battalion, the new commander under his command successfully completed the renovation of the positional quarters 438 last 14 February 2009 amounting to P731,339.00. This is ready to be turned over and already subjected for TIAC. On the other hand, Charlie Coy under 1LT KAINON LAURENTE is implementing the renovation of the office of the Internal Audit Services, Department of National Defense at GHQ, Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City. But due to some revision of the plan, the project was temporarily suspended as of 14 February 2009.
Meanwhile, 1LT NEIL JOEY MINA , the Battalion Operation officer together with Pfc Olvido is presently conducting a survey for the proposed projects at Palawan. Hereunder the proposed projects with their corresponding estimates:
Repair of water system at Brgy San Rafael, Puerto Princesa– P300,000.00
Repair of electrical system at Pag asa, Kalayaan, Puerto Princesa– P495,000.00
Repair of Brgy Road at Macarascas, Puerto Princesa– P500,000.00
Repair of School Building at Macarascas, Puerto Princesa– P270,000.00
Repair of school Building at El Nido, Palawan– P250,000.00
With the overall total amounting to P1,815,000.00, this Battalion is looking forward to implement these projectS and accomplish it with the given time. Again, our sincere thanks to our Commanding General, BGEN FELIZARDO A SIMOY AFP for the confidence he is giving us..
